Jim Cassidy has been ruled out of Friday’s Wyong Gold Cup meeting due to a hand injury and will have to pass a doctor’s examination before he can ride at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
Cassidy was stood down from his final five rides at Canterbury on Wednesday due to the injury to his left hand.
He is undergoing medical attention and remains confident he will be fit to ride at Warwick Farm where his six mounts include Maluckyday in the Group Two Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) and Elite Falls in the Group Two Furious Stakes (1400m).
Cassidy was to have ridden the Gai Waterhouse-trained pair of Essence Of Success in the Listed Wyong Gold Cup (2100m) and Sweetest Melody in the Listed Mona Lisa Stakes (1350m), with both mounts now going to Chris Munce.
